After Covid, I think the North Loop is the best area of Minneapolis for tourists. Located almost next door to Target Field, where the Twins play, the location allows you to enjoy the area around the stadium and the restaurants and bars of the North Loop neighborhood. The room is decorated with warmth and a sense of design, the towels are thick and plentiful, and the parking is underground and safe. This Minneapolis Element Hotel, compared to the one in Bozeman, Montana, is a revelation. Other than here, never was my room given away prior to checking out. 100+ nights a year on the road for 2 decades pre-covid. This should not affect offers made to make up for problems/mistakes etc. I was offered a room that potentially I could receive just with my current Marriott status. Apparently she decided that I shouldn't be offered the biggest room even though it was currently unoccupied. I then called the hotel and spoke with Rhonda and explained what had happened. I emailed the new GM, Rhonda twice, not receiving a reply either time. It did provide the new GMs name and email. It was automatically returned to me as Bill was no longer there. He offered me the largest room in the place upon my return (which is a 3 bedroom suite available for my upcoming dates) Upon making a new reservation, I emailed Bill. He offered me 20K Bonvoy points and that if I returned, he personally would assure/take care of me and that everything would go well. Told him there was no point going on and on as it changes nothing. He was more than willing to listen to me air my grievances. FORTUNATELY I HAD THE PRIVACY LOCKS ACTIVE (checkout was not until at least noon, and I get late checkout) I had originally held back a poor review as I thought what had happened was taken care of properly by the then GM Bill Godbe. I WAS AWOKEN BY THIS GUEST TRYING TO GET INTO MY ROOM. THIS HOTEL ASSIGNED ANOTHER GUEST MY ROOM WHILE I WAS SLEEPING IN IT AT 8AM. Unfortunately I will have to go through my bank again to get money back because clearly they don't care its not their money. but location is horrible if you need to be downtown. The hotel was mostly clean in our hotel room there was some food that had to be vaccinated. If you are not from Minnesota do not stay here! There aren't any restaurants close by even though it says there is. I had to continually contact them about a charge they made in error. Mark or another manager didn't ever reach out to me. I let the front desk know up til today the charge I was told would be released never was.

I talked to Viola, she emailed her general manager but then said later I had to talk to Mark another manager. However I had charges on my card held for that. I was told the POS system was erroneously charging guests, I wasn't the only one. So I think its fixed then I was charged an additional 107 when they already held a deposit. Then I was double charged I had to get my bank to get charges refunded. Its across the street from a sketchy convenience store and right next to construction site. The hotel is misleading with the location, its not exactly downtown, nor is it in a good area. You are actually in the downtown area - but on the north and west side. As for the North Loop - technically that is a couple blocks north and a couple blocks east. There are restaurants within walking distance. There is a gas station across the street, which is convenient. They do let people going to the baseball game pay to park in the garage but that was not an issue when we were there (and two games were played during our stay). Then, next to that area is the normal multi-level parking garage. The parking is a bit confusing - there is a drop-off area that you can pull in through what looks like a small garage door once you arrive.

The room was very nice, although the TV wasn't Hi-Def. The hotel is very nice and has an excellent complimentary breakfast that has a hot food area that changes each day. It sits next to Target Field - I could see the top of the scoreboard from our room.
